Hey fellow Ohioans! My name is Nitya Kumar Srivastava and I am from Dayton, Ohio. But now I am proud to say that I am a student in Georgetown's School of Foreign Service. I am studying International Politics with a concentration in Foreign Policy and Policy Processes and hope to one day work in the US Foreign Service. I know this may all sound a little intimidating at first if you don't know where you want to go to college yet or what you want to study, but trust me, Georgetown offers everything you could ever want. I remember when I was in your position and looking at a million different schools, and while it seems overwhelming and chaotic, choosing the right school just happens. Whether it hits you one day or you debate for hours, your choice will make you happy in the end and I hope that your choice is Georgetown University. To me, Georgetown is everything, but let me try to describe it to you in as few words as possible. Georgetown is diverse in every sense, dedicated to bettering our community and the whole city of Washington, D.C., and bursting with opportunities and experiences for its students. I believe that there is no better city than Washington, D.C. in which to find anything you desire from historical buildings and monuments to the widest range of cultures and languages. You can explore one of the most powerful cities in the world with endless possibilities and opportunities just waiting for you to grasp them. The empowering knowledge and growth that Georgetown advocates and supports only serves to make you all that you can be for yourself and the community. The people that you will meet along the way are just as motivated, bright, and fun as you are, reaching out for the amazing opportunities that Georgetown offers, but forging the deepest of bonds with each other and this city along the way. I have had internships on Capitol Hill and private consulting firms as well as with Georgetown's student-run Credit Union. I have been involved in South Asian Society, Center for Minority Educational Affairs, Peer Leadership Institute, and International Relations Club. I am proud to say that I am receiving one of the top educations in the country and gaining the greatest experiences of my life as a Georgetown Hoya. And I wish that all you Buckeyes get the same chance in your college experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Yay for Ohio Hoyas!
