Hello fellow Michiganders! My name is Elizabeth Kwicinski, and I am currently an International Politics major in the School of Foreign Service. I graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI. As a high school senior I had no idea where I wanted to go to college so I applied to eight different schools. Choosing Georgetown was the best decision I could have made. It is the perfect place for me (and hopefully for you guys as well!) and the students and professors are amazing. There are so many reasons to love Georgetown that I can't even begin to list them all. For starters, if you're considering entering the SFS and see a political career in your future, there is no better place to study than in Washington, DC. Many of the professors here work on the Hill and in the federal government, and the possibilities for internships are endless. However, Georgetown isn't just about politics. There are so many diverse extracurricular opportunities that it's hard not to find a niche. There's so much to do and see in DC that you'll never be bored. All of the Smithsonian museums are free, the monuments look amazing at night, and there's plenty of shopping to be done in the chic stores on M Street. If you like to stay on campus, keep your eyes peeled for foreign dignitaries or hang out on "Healy Beach" in the spring and play Frisbee. I would love to answer any questions you have about Georgetown, DC, or how life here is different from the Midwest. I look forward to hearing from you!
