My name is Meaghan Morris and I am currently a junior in the College intending to graduate in 2009. I am from Portland, Maine and attended Cheverus High School, a small Jesuit preparatory school. I swam and ran track competitively my whole life, but decided to pursue other interests once I got to GU. In applying to colleges, I knew I wanted to leave Maine and perhaps New England, and found DC to be a great solution. I found Georgetown to be a medium-sized school and campus, just big enough so you don't see the same faces every day, but not overwhelmingly large. Here you feel as if you are not directly in the big busy city life, yet have easy access to it.

Last year I declared two majors: Government and Spanish. I also have a new found interest in Justice and Peace Studies, and thus will make it my new minor. I have planned to study abroad for as long as I can remember- and I'm finally here! I am currently studying abroad for one semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina!! Studying abroad is an incredible opportunity that I highly recommend for every student at Georgetown.

At school, I am involved in HOPE, a volunteer program that offers a diverse array of opportunities in order to mesh with students' hectic schedules. It's a great, safe program that takes students to areas of need in DC. I also take advantage of the gym, pool, soccer fields, and am always up for a pickup game of something! I should also mention that I am an avid basketball fan, and attend as many games as possible!

I love it here at Georgetown- the people, the activities, the city- and am more than willing to speak to prospective students about life in DC! Shoot me an email with any questions and I'll respond as quickly as possible. Go HOYAS!!!!
