Hi, my name is Correy Kamin and I am a senior in the McDonough School ofBusiness. I live in Greenwich, CT, a suburban town about forty minutesoutside of Manhattan, which provides me with the best of both worlds—thequaint beauty of a New England town and the bustling excitement of a bigcity. Georgetown has afforded me a similar balance, though in an evenmore comprehensive way.

Hello fellow Connecticut residents. My name is Dan Raccuia, and I'm the GAAP state chair for Connecticut. I'm a senior in the College and I'm a double major, studying History and English. I lived in Orange for my entire live until moving to Woodbridge last summer, and I am a 2004 graduate of Fairfield Prep. Coming from a Jesuit high school, I felt that adjusting to life at Georgetown would be somewhat easy, but I was curious to see what living in Washington would be like after spending eighteen years in a small suburban town. I quickly discovered that Georgetown's unique location within Washington offers the benefits of a large city, while at the same time retaining the feel of a true campus community and college town. Georgetown has an enclosed campus, so unlike other urban schools, students don't have to cross busy city streets to get to different university buildings, and there is an intimate feel to the school. The Georgetown neighborhood is full of great restaurants and is a popular shopping destination and it also boasts many old homes and townhouses. The neighborhood gives students the feel of both a small college town and a large city. If you've spent any time in New York your ability to cross the street with or without the walk sign will impress some of your new friends, but at the same time, many of Georgetown's streets are quiet and peaceful. With downtown Washington a short Metro (subway) ride away, you will be able to enjoy the "real" city as well. I found that Georgetown offers the perfect mix of campus and city life, and it was very easy for me to adjust to my new surroundings. Feel free to email me at djr25@georgetown.edu with any questions you may have. I hope to see many Connecticut students in next year's freshman class.

Since I was in your position as a prospective student only a short year ago, I can remember exactly what it feels like. I know what thoughts are rushing through your head as you try to make “the most important decision of your life” so far. After attending the February Open House weekend last year, I knew that I wanted to be involved in GAAP and that I would love to be a student here. There were so many wonderful activities and opportunities that attracted me to Georgetown, and I wanted to make sure that prospective students got the chance to see everything about this school that had made me want to come here.
