After spending my entire life growing up in the same town in Colorado, I needed a change. Moving to Washington, D.C. to attend a world renowned university was just the ticket. Georgetown has not only met, but surpassed, my hopes and expectations.

The diverse student body that comprises Georgetown presents an unlimited range of potential cultural experiences and learning opportunities. I have met so many amazing people from all over the world. I moved from a fairly homogenous state to living in an apartment with three of my closest friends: an Ethiopian, a Nigerian, and a half-Indian/half-Belgian. We share everything from our different cooking recipes to our different perspectives on life. Where else can one find such an enriching experience?

Life at Georgetown has been nothing short of amazing; I have no regrets. I love that I am now able to socialize with fellow Hoyas over a hefty burger at The Tombs after basketball games (We Beat Duke!), and learn from internationally renowned professors like Madeline Albright. Washington, D.C. is a beautiful city, and absolutely fabulous in general. There are many great restaurants, night clubs, and sights to see in what is now my favorite city.

There is also a multitude of opportunities to get involved with on campus. I pride myself in being an active employee of the Students of Georgetown, Inc., the largest entirely student-run company in the nation, managing over $3.5 million in annual revenue. I am also involved in La Société Française, New Student Orientation, the Georgetown Student Investment Fund, and various community service activities. I know that my decision to come to Georgetown will continue to be, for the rest of my life, one of the best decisions I have ever made.
