Who We Are -The Georgetown Admissions Ambassador Program (GAAP) is a volunteer student-run organization dedicated to helping prospective and accepted students discover Georgetown. With a Board consisting of 15 students, State Chairs for every US state and many international countries, and a General Membership totaling over 600 students, GAAP is an active presence at Georgetown. -We hope to first meet you as part of the admissions process. Later, after hopefully choosing Georgetown, we hope you become a student member of our organization. What We Do (and don't do) -GAAP is not, however, directly involved in the Admissions process. Our students do not evaluate applications, work in the Admissions Office, or otherwise. -GAAP is directed by its Student Executive Board (meet the board here) with advising and support from the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Our Events
-GAAP Open House (3 Spring Weekends for Accepted Students--Information Distributed upon Acceptance) -State Chair Letter Writing (Prospective Students on Georgetown's mailing lists in early fall receive a personal letter from the chair(s) representing their state) -Special Visit Options for Accepted Students (Information Distributed upon Acceptance) -Accepted Student Phone Calling (Every Georgetown accepted Student receives a personal phone call from a student volunteer) -Early Action Accepted Student Holiday Receptions (Local gatherings with GAAP student member for Early Action accepted students in December/January) -High School Visits (GAAP student members visit high schools to talk about their Georgetown experience over school breaks) -State Chair Web Blurbs (Web profiles of GAAP state chairs to answer questions about their Georgetown experience) Where We Are -The GAAP Office is part of the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Undergraduate Admissions is located in White-Gravenor. Enter through the center door and continue back to the Admissions Office. Ask the receptionist for the "GAAP Office." -Meeting locations are announced by email. When... -GAAP activities take place throughout the year, although the biggest push comes for Open Houses during February, March, and April. -Meeting times and activites are announced by email.
